Interact's 2nd Annual Talent Cup
The Interact Club will be holding their 2nd annual Talent Cup on Saturday April 27 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at London Central Secondary School. Please join us for a fun filled night!
Boys and Girls Club Swim-a-thon
On February 4th a small of of Interacters made their way out to take part in the Boys and Girls Club Swim-a-thon. The group went canvassing and raised a lump sum to donate back to the B&G Club as their way of giving back.
On January 4th, four members of the club made their way to the Budweiser Garden's and set up a table booth in the hallways and had a very successful night of selling bracelets and a fun filled game of London Knights hockey.
Pillar's Awards Night
TD Bank sponsored 21 of the Interacters to attend Pillar's Community Innovation Awards. Hearing the different actions that people are making in communities was shocking. Thanks again to TD Bank, for helping us see a brighter future.
St. John's 5K Run
The Interacters had a great time helping St. John's Evangelist Church with their run to raise money for their meal program. The meal program hosts over 200 hunger Londoners every Sunday.
CIBC Run for the Cure
September 30 turned out to be an eventful Sunday morning as our members headed out to support the annual Run for the Cure at Victoria Park. Our members enthusiastically cheered on the participants as they ran toward the cure.
Talent Cup 2012
On May 19th, the Interact Club of London held a talent show, named the Talent Cup, at London Central Secondary School in an effort to raise money for El Sistema Aeolian. The event raised $500+ for the charity and gave the opportunity to local high school students to showcase their talent.Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event.
Rotary Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders
May 11-13, two Interact members had the pleasure of attending a seminar held by Rotary to promote leadership in the youth of today. Three other members had the opportunity to present about Interact at the seminar as well. Overall it was a life changing experience.
District 6330 Assembly
On April 21st, two members went to Sarnia along with a Rotarian to attend the annual district assembly. It was an opportunity to enrich our learning about water sanitation, the mechanics of a successful club, scholarships etc. It was really nice meeting members from other Interact and Rotary clubs!
Art for Action - High School Art Expo 2011
Saturday May 14th, at 6:30pm the doors opened and the early crowd trickled in. We had artists participate from many different local high schools: Central, Oakridge, Ingersoll (IDCI), West Elgin, H.B. Beal, A.B. Lucas, Catholic Central, and St. Thomas Aquinas. Overall, we collected almost 70 pieces of art, in support of Art for Aids International.
Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders
Three of our members, Pedro, Folk and Rahma spent a weekend at the seminar, participating in many activities oriented toward developing leadership skills. Sophia, Gordon, Jun and Vivian were guest presenters at the Seminar, introducing Interact to this enthusiastic group of kids -- tomorrow's leader's today.
St. Thomas Joint Meeting
On Monday April 4, three of our members, Rebecca Richmond, Zack Zhang and Ming Hu, attended the Joint Meeting between the Interact Club of St. Thomas and their supporting Rotary Clubs.
Daffodils in the Fight Against Cancer
On April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, our members joined the fight against cancer by volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil pin sale. Our volunteers trekked out across the city, from Oakridge, to White Oaks, to Westmount to help the cause.
Supporting Rotary North
Hasan Syed and Rosalinda Chen, our public relations officers made a detailed presentation to the Rotary Club of London North this past Wednesday.
For the month of February, we collected 64 bags of clothing from local businesses, personal donations, and the generous support of Londoners. Thank you to the compassionate Londoners who gave their support.
